And draw out all beautiful imagination, inspired

3. And look lively, human company is the garden of bliss
Blossoming with the beauty of one free of blemish

4. And pluck flowers of joy, for the souls are indeed
Revived by their fragrance, gently inhaled

5. The roses provoke the cheek with their heady scent
Exchanging their gold coins for silver

6. And the narcissi of languid glances are paramours
To the hearts made merry by their smiles

7. And the cypress trees have fluttered their cloaks coquettishly
Rejoicing to the song of the one humming a tune

8. And the creeping plants where their tendrils intertwine
The sun shines between their lines like stars

9. The breeze snatches them softly in the dark of night
Snatches misery to torment under the armpit

10. The scent of glad tidings has perfumed its train
Blanketing the hearts with what fills them

11. Greetings with the cool breeze, a gift
That makes hopeful souls nod off

12. Where there is nobility, generosity and divine inspiration
No crow may access its forbidden sanctum

13. So turn back from those orchards of bliss
And every side road covered in clouds

14. For today each hopeful person
Knows ease after longtime gloom

15. The Caliph, may his shade be well established
For religion and worldly life, bestows comfort

16. The good and bad of his trials persist
Taking events along the rightest path

17. He does not make decisions blindly
Rather, he unravels the complex matters

18. He reserves high office and hand picks
The best descendants for the most sublime posts

19. He discerns the character of men intently
Like a pearl diver plunging the depths

20. He honored his Minister with a unique jewel
None other exists equal to this precious gem

21. So it’s wondrous how good fortune and glory meet
In a glorious house with solid foundations

22. A necklace to match the jewel that adorns it
How excellent is the pairing of two well-matched things!

23. Congratulations to the noble one on his title
And salutations to all other titles through him

24. But when the generous are mentioned
It is an endless sea spoken of by every guide

25. Whatever measure of generosity you desire
If life draws from its measure, time flows gently

26. Chivalry dances in brave youth
As the full moon outshines the white dawn

27. And strong proofs in word and principle
Where letters of the alphabet shine brightly

28. With vast capacity, the world but a place in it
And simplicity descends from the Ifriqi sea

29. Divine inspiration flows from him to the reverent
Not what a tutor’s lesson imparts

30. He does not equate the fleeting life with principles
Or the eternal one as fanciful delusion

31. You find he busies himself to the utmost
With weighty matters rather than luxury

32. He sought things from his Lord, so they were facilitated
He resisted caprice, obeying without being pictured

33. He wears regalia though he woven its very fabric
Pride wearing but a shred of the greatest

34. It brings no honour if steel is not engraved
With the stamp of the durable mold

35. The Minister let down his braids, ennobling his partisan
Granting the greatest favour to the favoured one

36. He continues to distinguish himself in perfection
For the perfect person, his merit shines bright

37. His Lord, the All-Wise Arranger, guides him
His elixir following the course of nature

38. Glory did not count him among the titles
Of crowns past and the turbans of scholars

39. Until the lofty spheres tested him in their arenas
Winning their wager by resolve

40. So if he disputes, virtue folds its gown
If he contends, glory binds his wrist

41. He fills the breast with munificence, intelligence,
Eloquence and wit with dignity

42. His listening is virtuous, and if he speaks then displaying
Certain knowledge in the guise of one seeking knowledge

43. He does not divulge ugly matters nor welcomes
Indecency by eye or mouth

44. He never maligns anyone targeted
Granting reprieve to the one allotted fate

45. It is reputable to comprehend in description
Then to seek the means to heavens by ladder

46. He gathered unmatched morals and manners
In creation, the best among the best

47. He is clever. When warded by the shield of one who swims well,
You see lightning bolts shot from his pool.

48. And when he frowns to reveal some darkness,
You witness the full moon dispelling gloom.

49. Every witness compelled to praise his perfection
Whether eloquent or babbling dimwit

50. Bearing the burden of his righteousness and loyalty
Harder than the blame of the ungrateful creditor

51. The promise of his determination gleams
Over resolute action that persists

52. And gifts race from the breaths of his favour
As family and possessions are willed to him

53. Oh you noble of character that shall never
Over the expanse of nights be recorded again

54. My poetry turns with the cup of your mention to deter
Taking delight in the garden blossoming

55. Praising you as gardens praise their boughs
Their pages stamped with brilliant decoration

56. God knows my love for you flows
Like a soul inside one impassioned

57. Matching your fine traits, if they were
On the full moon, no effort made to grasp them

58. And your nobility, if not for you, a sense
Would not perceive, nor eyes with kohl mark them

59. So let the constitution of governance grow
With your talents embedded in resolute principles

60. For its orchard has blossomed to reveal
Ripe fruit, fragrant breeze redolent

61. And it has one befitting it, one whose hopes do not fail
Seeking its thoroughness with fortitude

62. O peerless one who alone won all merit Then surpassed the glory of other glorious men
Wait, O carrier of virtue, a moment

63. Your prominence preceded my inadequate attempt
I plunged my thoughts into depthless confusion

64. To collect rays of light for the stars
Tread softly, and let it return to me, it’s enough

65. That it targets inadequacy with arrows
I assessed both your condition and composition

66. Yours the superior craft without doubt
May you accept what I have scrambled as booty

67. No glory attaches to the mighty amulet
Matching the eye of perfection, and sufficing

68. The enemy in his burning ire
Today the envious claim you blame

69. To frighten me, even by illusion
The envious failed by their words, for the devoted

70. Planted sapling will always bear ripe fruit
I say, deflecting his deception

71. And adhering to your solid loyalty
I swear by my soul, accustomed to bliss

72. Undisturbed by the bucket drawing water
And gentle advice, implicit in subtle rebuke, even if

73. It ran in breath’s passage, I’d bear it
Affection for God made us closer than kin

74. While in the world, we’d be stranger than a solitary bird
My delay in praising you signals no doubt

75. That you are most deserving of high station
I have gained but a portion of your praise

76. Over a shred of your unmatched cloak
My ambitions can’t simply be satisfied

77. With a bolt of lightning from promising clouds
How can an eye endure abandoning its sight

78. While the garden forsakes its engraved pillars
Or how can I reject bounty bestowed

79. When the case itself speaks truth?
I have no merit unless robed by it

80. Gratefully wearing finery of time’s hands
Generosity, dignity and loyalty refuse

81. Ingrates who reject the benefactor’s gift
I postponed a middle obligation though time to fulfill it

82. Came, delaying extras can forbid them
Trusting your wide pardon, and competing intents

83. Cannot justify, this isn’t assumed
My manner may slip from sheer joy

84. Of blessed days not halted
You who applauded my ambitions

85. And spared me the worries of time
How you broadcasted my praise to nobles’ ears

86. And tolerated the bites of those who sought to gnaw at me
You cultivated an orchard from your work

87. As gratitude praises bliss’ gardens
These are your magnificent exploits, my poem

88. Is eternal though ruins all things
Traced with masterpieces as lessons

89. For ancients and signs for pagans
The Wise One with dual names composed it

90. Reflecting Hellenistic wisdom and Hira’s lore
A house in two parts dated with bliss

91. And two parts informal then alphabet letters
A necklace with the highest jewel of pure glory

92. An invaluable necklace honouring Rustam
O you who revive merit leading

93. Its valiant vanguards from the shackles of oppressive fate
Donned in the gown of praise, also wearing

94. The gowns of munificence threaded by jurists
Your envoy returns rewarded or pioneering

95. Unprecedented spoils not yet realized
You possess ambition which the lofty goals fall short of

96. Saying this is my limit, so take precedence!
Take it from the pain relieving magic at dawn

97. Shedding dignity from the revered forbearing one
Its talk settles deeper in hearts

98. Than a captivating glance piercing the lovesick one
A charming tone better than the crystal’s ring

99. Containing a purer sense than gentle breezes
Your condition spread until carrying it

100. Became the finest goods from shop or accused one
So remove with favourable winds her veil of excuses

101. Shielding coyness from the subtly blaming one
Submit forevermore, for every merit

102. You submit forever stays protected
Go quickly to goals, no intermediary

103. Except the path of honours by niche
Rising by steady glory, its bridle still
