1. Good tidings! For the dawn of felicitations has shone,
And the helper of joy's ascendance has gushed forth.

2. The universe has been ringed with good years,
So you see it like a garden when it blossoms.

3. Good fortune has come, and time's joys have succeeded each other,
Its bliss blanketed the lands.

4. Rejoicing at what the prince, brother of the Exalted, has done,
When he made the sky's expanse fragrant through it.

5. He is that consummate one, Muhammad,
Son of the noble kings, the glittering Pleiades.

6. The flag of guidance, the sea of dew, the guide of reverberation,
Waterer of the grove, the lion of valor that offers the cup of friendship.

7. The bestower of bounty, who, if ever a mother's child was in need,
Would come to his aid, making the destitute prosperous.

8. A succor, so that if the rain failed to arrive somewhere,
His hands would pour rain from his own clouds.

9. In his comfort is the comfort of the anguished, or
The attainment of the aspiring against those tyrannized.

10. If you see him in peace, you see a Hātim,
Or if you see him in war, you see a furious knight.

11. Of a rank that grew lofty upon the cosmos,
Rising further still above that station.

12. With resolves that produced what was, in the eye of the affectionate,
Dearer than the fire of celestial spheres.

13. If Kisrā had climbed to his resolves,
Kisrā's would be broken, and Caesar shown inferior.

14. O master who surpassed all mankind entire
In the good he brought, without pride or superiority.

15. You celebrated a wedding whose tale
Will remain, eternalized throughout the ages.

16. You honored al-Ma'mun when the daughter of the son of Sahl
Was wed to him, with generosity and wealth.

17. You brought forth from the veils of kings women of virtue
Whose perfection was guarded, that none might look upon.

18. You placed them in the palaces of noble in-laws, theirs being
Deeds of nobility which none can deny.

19. Especially he who won pride, and she who still perseveres
In advising authority, ne'er changes course.

20. And the finest scion, your favors made his grafting thrive
To be a fertile implant.

21. So honor the elder with what his
Man has attained, becoming a shining full moon.

22. Not to mention his piety and excellence of character
In his time he never came near disgrace.

23. O mighty lord, when praise is sold, who would be
Better to buy than you?

24. And between the generous and you, who can be
Like what's between Sirius and the ground?

25. Take them, though you've no need to thank me,
As my praises have gained abundant prize.

26. Expressions once frowned upon by their worth
Beneath your eminence, so they turned to jewels.

27. My love leads them to you, but I
Keep affection, for it cannot be betrayed.

28. For in your survival lies my dearest prize,
My hand has grasped its bond so firmly tied.

29.
You continue to rise to the peak of virtues,

30. Exalted glory and praised destiny.
And it's enough to gain what you may wish for,
