1. People say I am a steadfast man,
Yet I care not for the deeds of the steadfast.
١. يَقولُ الناسُ لي رَجلٌ سَديدٌ
وَما فعلي بِفِعل فتىً سَديدِ
2. If I were not afraid of threats,
Then of what use are my threats to others?
٢. إِذا ما كُنتُ ما أَخشى وَعيداً
فَما نَفعي مَقالي بِالوَعيدِ
