1. However excellent the lands though they seem
None have attained their teacher's glory supreme
١. أُفاضِلُ الدنيا وَان بَرَّزوا
لَم يَبلُغوا غايَةَ اِستاذِها
2. Have you not seen the teeming towns and cities?
Yet nowhere exists a Baghdad such as this
٢. أَما تَرى أَمصارَ جمَّةً
وَلا تَرى مِصراً كَبَغدادِها
