1. Fear God, you have made the pilgrimage, so repent,
Let not what you have done become disgraceful.

2. Woe to you, O Dum, do not persist in revelry,
And do not let men enter upon you.

3. Joseph is in Egypt, so beware of him,
Lest you become a scandal for all people.

4. And if Thaqif seize you for wrongdoing,
Veiling will not equal forgiveness from you.

5. What is past is past, and what was, was,
And youth has carried away its exuberance from you.
