1. She glanced with a look that set hearts aflutter,
Swaying coquettishly with her slender form.

2. She smiled charmingly, lighting up her lips,
Her braided hair shone, trailing long and loose.

3. The eyes of onlookers delighted in her beauty,
So she threatened them playfully from her cheek.

4. She came to us golden in a goblet, poured
From a hand the hue of its dyed vessel.

5. She brought us news that would satisfy
Even Abdelmalik, son of Qareeb.

6. She took the lute’s ear and pressed it
To her cheek, bending close to hear it speak.

7. What she whispered to it was indeed a secret-
Hearing is torn between truth and falsehood.

8. She thought he would keep her secret, but lo!
We see him cry out as if beaten.

9. Their voices mingled until they were one,
Poured forth in song into the still night.

10. Love and loyalty fill our hearts
For our prince and beloved king.

11. Our loyalty to the throne is sacred duty,
This is the required and sought response.

12. Glorious is He who placed the lands in His palm
And enveloped its people in His care!

13. He made His body their pulsating heart
While our hearts envelope them like a shield.

14. Pulse with a yearly beat in Your name
With the life of an age of knowledge and refinement!

15. An age that cured the thirst of hopes,
And whose night gave birth, dispelling gloom.

16. A king who mounted the throne of our hearts
Ere ascending the erected throne.

17. People recount his origins and merits-
Inheritance augmented by gains.

18. If our hearts have pledged him loyalty,
The word of the free man is no falsehood.

19. Pulse with the celebration of the throne’s anniversary!
For his people, youths and old.

20. This is Mohammed's crown day, the shadow
Of people, and their cherished desire.

21. Grace it with a feast showing the rise
Of this day honoring and lauding You.

22. And congratulate on the full moon of the first
Day, Your crown prince, the best of nobles.

23. By God, the glorious future in store for him
On his brow is written in light!

24. Congratulate him and his fortunate star;
Brandish your club in the field of victory!

25. Behold France, the best of beloved friends
To the throne, and he its dearest friend.

26. It shared our joy in his holiday-
How lovely is the oneness of peoples!

27. Let the red rejoice and its people glory
In every close or distant kinship.

28. In its distinction that it attained on
This, its day of pride long extolled!

29. May its Pasha live long, for he persevered
Loyally, nearby and from afar.
