1. O home, you have attained honor and dignity,
And your dwelling in the lands has become great.

2. You were once the home of an arrogant tyrant,
Who knew not right from wrong.

3. He robbed souls of their joys and lives,
And afflicted them with torture and suffering,

4. Until God granted you good fortune,
When you became Abraham's abode.

5. For long had your face joy, as long as
That despicable tyrant remained vile.

6. You were compensated for that oppressor with
A protector of virtues, honorable and generous.

7. Free, wise, refined in manners,
Courteous, serene of brow, and noble.

8. God granted him a heart pure
Of all illnesses of the soul.

9. He has abundant fortune in knowledge,
Bringing him prose and verse.

10. He has won love amongst men,
So you see him intimate with the noble.

11. O home, congratulations on the honor
And prosperity you attained, everlasting.

12. You were cleansed of the trace of oppression
When God settled within you a wise one.

13. You became anew after destruction,
And were granted bliss after separation.

14. True is He who said fortune does not
Always persist in both states.

15. The young man returns richest of all though long he
Slept bankrupt and destitute.

16. You were clothed in robes of glory, a dress
That left the envious silent and helpless.

17. To you returned youth, caressing,
While feeble old age departed grumbling.

18. To you, O Abraham, congratulations just as
Dawn sent fragrance from the meadows.
