1. The days of youth are slipping by,
Once lingering, now rushing to fly,

2. Youth departed with peace be upon it,
From a heart filled with love for it.

3. Each state is followed by another,
And time meets with time later.

4. If a youth’s state changes,
Bewildered he halts not at all.

5. This is the harvest time so whoever
Toiled is now at ease and better.

6. Who laziness in affairs did sow,
None but disgrace he shall mow.

7. A man hopes not from people for
This or that one safe harbor.

8. So roam the land for skies of this epoch,
Do not wish from them any location.

9. And beware of people for safety
Only a child expects from them purity.

10. And ride on seriousness in matters, do not weaken,
If you miss some of them occasionally.

11. For existence is like war, cowardice
Is not excused in war frequently.
