1. A planet my nights have transformed
From the sky of the Highest to the sky of ideals

2. A bright star between us night and day
Since our day has become like the nights

3. It is a dream though we witness it
Sleep is oblivion to the eyes of the ignorant

4. My people are truly a sleeping folk
Thus they dream of hopes

5. We were enamored with the West until
The specter of fantasy visited us today from it

6. O West, teach the East that
Knowledge is nothing difficult to attain

7. Everything is permissible but according to
The extent of our minds, our differing states

8. Woe to my people, even the inanimate of Europe
Got their share of our horses and mules

9. O tram, you are proof of the apex
Of skill on earth, East and North

10. It was said beyond Mars are people so when
They denied, this came as an example

11. From your iron people read a line
If the words of men are in deeds

12. It has rods atop which are
Wires, embodying the form of dilemma

13. Every house revolving in which I see
Lush, of delightful beauty

14. They built it food and those are veins of the
Body coursing through it to the limbs

15. Would that I knew, was the earth a horizon
They darkened its face from horrors

16. While above the rods are some young ones
They reflected it so it moved above the crescent

17. Or is it the soul and the lines
Cords of life passing through them to the appointed times

18. So whatever it extends in them is the same
Ending from short and long

19. Or is it the heart above which is electricity
Ecstasy, if touched, flows from fantasy

20. Going around singing of the one who strayed from it
Standing each instant for asking

21. That seriousness which to the men of the
East is a thing like children’s games
