1. Is it time coming to you or departing,
And whether your promise is true or lying,

2. So leave it as it willed, whoever you see,
Playing around while time keeps flying.

3. And if you hope, be moderate,
For He who gives souls is the Depriver.

4. Experience has taught me
That being content is the duty.

5. So leave me by your Lord, give me no water,
For wishing is its companion.

6. If you refuse, then wait,
I am that tyrannical king.

7. The earth belongs to me, its east and west,
So take it and bring it and leave people

8. Veiled from me by the screen.
When we drink I see the earth walking

9. And every man mounted above it.
We threw the cloud of sorrow to the sky

10. So the top of the sky has become white-haired by it.
And from the difficulty of the wind, wishes come near

11. And attend while I am absent.
It has a softness like the trickle of wine,

12. No wonder that the drinker dreams.
