And wavers feebly between the two.

2. When you have made up your mind, brook no delay,
For procrastination is the bane of passion.

3. When you need help, seek it in experience,
Which for the soul is like molars for molars.

4. Why do you expect people to aid you
In something that concerns only you?

5. The soul is a bow, resolve is its arrow;
Discard vain hopes and speed this arrow from the bow!

6. Illumine your life with knowledge, for it
Is as a lamp in the dark night of life.

7. Make the love of God the basis of your soul,
For no house stands firm without a base.
