1. I mean you, O best of those who are meant with harmony

2. I praise you for the new blessings you have bestowed
How can I not praise you when blessed by bounty?

3. Kindness from you rains on me, excuse dwells with you for me
Without my apologies, you do not blame or find fault

4. Your knowledge stood for me, defending you on my behalf
Like an honest witness, free of accusation

5. You returned my wealth, not obliging me with it
And before you returned what was mine, my blood was spared

6. You pardon justly, and seize tyrannically if you seize
We will not miss you, whether forgiving or avenging

7. So I have been blessed by you, repaying it with a hand
That is life from death, and existence from nonexistence

8. If I deny a favor you have granted
I find, in villainy, your generosity exceeds nobility

9. If I shed my blood, hoping to please you
And my wealth, until my slipper falls off my foot

10. That would only be a loan, returned
To you - had you not granted it, you would not be blamed
