The shining full moon rises to bring light anew

10. If generosity's steed I cannot urge to speed
For open-handedness then will I pine and rue

11. So I don the cloak of honor and assemble wealth
Lavish in giving while others amass and accrue

12. When I promise some seeker my bounty will come
What I promised is brought to pass, for that is my due

13. Though my nature has two flavors, honey polluted
With poison, by the poison itself subdued

14. Let none fear who enters my abode in trepidation
Let no guest depart from my land denied his due

15. My home is ever sought and my neighbor feels safe
Lavish am I, sheltering, and shade spreads not few

16. The night, the Pleiades, Sirius know me well
As do the hilt, the hardy blade, the edge that hew

17. Keen wisdom guides me when perils abound
As does resolve, courage, and fairness true

With might prevail, as strongest of all that pursue

19. Though kings heap up wealth I will leave it behind
Though adorned ladies pine, hidden from view

20. Never will I clothe them in garb of disgrace
Rather let death take them, death the destroyer hew

21. Vain for people to take pride in abodes
When my threats have thundered like lion's roar thereto

22. I am the victorious king, necks of kings bent down
Humbled before me, heads bowed down anew

23. I am the taker of souls, the giver of life
When war's pot boils or welfare accrues

24. I am Dhigham son of lion, and lion in the fray
My prey, and my horse's prey what lions subdue

25. I am Tubba the fortunate, him you all know
When heirs are named Tubba still holds tenure true

26. Antique pillar, carver of the noble branch
A stalwart, firm, with acts that realms imbue

As will Imru al-Qays and he who glories accrue

Never stained though ambitions around me grew

When the hardy, polished swords their mark pursue

Without wealth to give, refusing his plea's due
