2. Had the living felt no shame before peers,
The magic of their glances would have sufficed.

3. Why did he finish off horses and mountain goats
While his greyhound and steed went hungry?

4. White palms were dyed so deeply
Their song rivals that of the adorned palms.

5. Their seducing eyes are deadly,
Unlike those that had passed by the antelope.

6. For the crescent folk are tents,
From which the dawn derived its brilliance.

7. They were stingy with them yet the dew descended
And stepped its luggage and pitched its tents.

8. They hosted whom their fires were kindled for,
Save the lover, for they see not his neighbourhood.

9. They look not on him, distracted by others,
Though the hearts of their ladies yearn for him.

10. The hearts toughened against him until,
When he hoped for his darlingโ€™s kindness, it was denied.

11. Woe to the broken-hearted madman
Who falls into the gorge where none can reach him.

12. He fears emaciation due to his slender body
So he fattened himself until he can barely be seen.

ููŽุจูŽุฑุงู‡ู ุญูŽุชู‘ูŽู‰ ู„ุง ุชูŽูƒูŽุงุฏู ุชูŽุฑุงู‡ู

13. Take me to a hostile army,
Whose India is no peace and her peace no rest.

14. From every vicious person whose hiding
Cannot be exposed, how can clarity result?

15. His glances kept trying to hunt him
And he shielded himself from them lest they deafen him.

16. When I bid Suluwan farewell, his passion amazed me,
And he said, โ€œwhat could I wish him but safety?โ€

17. O sister of one whose glorious buildings
And chambers were brought nearer by burial.

18. You have not visited, nor has your image,
Until even the pillar took offence.

19. Woe to your heart that feels no tenderness, though
The inanimate sometimes soften from burdening sorrows.

20. Why not take rest at the abode of Imam al-Murtaza
Whilst creation derives blessing from his mercy?

ูขู . ู‡ูŽู„ุง ุชูŽู‚ูŽูŠู‘ูŽู„ูŽุชู ุงู„ุฅู…ูŽุงู…ูŽ ุงู„ู…ูุฑุชูŽุถูŽู‰
ููŠู…ูŽุง ุงุณุชูŽุฑูŽู‚ู‘ูŽ ุงู„ุฎูŽู„ู’ู‚ูŽ ู…ูู†ู’ ุฑูุญู’ู…ูŽุงู‡ู

21. A King who protected his inalienable rights
And sufficed mankind his tyranny and harm.

ูขูก. ู…ูŽู„ููƒูŒ ุฃูŽุฌุงุฑูŽ ู…ูู† ุงู„ุฒู‘ูŽู…ูŽุงู†ู ุฌููˆุงุฑูู‡ู
ูˆูŽูƒูŽููŽู‰ ุงู„ุจูŽุฑููŠู‘ุฉูŽ ุฌูŽูˆุฑูŽู‡ู ูˆุฃูŽุฐูŽุงู‡ู

22. Guidance sat so he established it with his justness
And dew passed so he restored it with his softness.

ูขูข. ู‚ูŽุนูŽุฏูŽ ุงู„ู‡ูุฏูŽู‰ ูุฃู‚ูŽุงู…ูŽู‡ู ุจูู…ูŽุถูŽุงุฆูู‡ู
ูˆูŽู…ูŽุถูŽู‰ ุงู„ู†ู‘ูŽุฏูŽู‰ ูุฃูŽุนูŽุงุฏูŽู‡ู ุจูู„ูู‡ุงู‡ู

23. He who perfected him uniquely in the Highest
Would not approve the clear truthโ€™s equal.

ูขูฃ. ุฅู†ู‘ูŽ ุงู„ุฐููŠ ุณูŽูˆู‘ูŽุงู‡ู ููŽุฑู’ุฏุงู‹ ูููŠ ุงู„ุนูู„ูŽู‰
ู„ูŽู…ู’ ูŠูŽุฑุถูŽ ู„ูู„ุญูŽู‚ู‘ู ุงู„ู…ูุจูŠู†ู ุณููˆุงู‡ู

24. The transgressors wanted him dead, but
Yahya ibn Abdullah revived him.

ูขูค. ู‚ูŽุฏู’ ูƒูŽุงู†ูŽ ุฃูŽุฑู’ุฏูŽุงู‡ู ุงู„ุบููˆุงุฉู ูˆูŽุฅูู†ู‘ูŽู…ุง
ูŠูŽุญู’ูŠูŽู‰ ุจู†ู ุนุจุฏู ุงู„ูˆูŽุงุญูุฏู ุงุณู’ุชูŽุญู’ูŠูŽุงู‡ู

25. He left him his deputy on earth
When He approved him to carry what He entrusted.

ูŠูŽู‚ู’ูููˆ ุงู„ุฎูŽู„ุงุฆูู‚ู ู‡ูŽุฏู’ูŠูŽู‡ู ูˆูŽู‡ูุฏูŽุงู‡ู

26. And He chose him a wise ruler,
Who achieved righteousness by the wisdom He imparted.

ู„ูŽู…ู‘ูŽุง ุงุฑู’ุชูŽุถูŽุงู‡ู ู„ูุญูŽู…ู’ู„ู ู…ุง ูˆูŽู„ุงู‡ู

27. My eulogy, worried for his formidable power
And seeking aid against that which you fear.

ูขูง. ูˆุงุฎู’ุชูŽุงุฑูŽู‡ู ุญูŽูƒูŽู…ุงู‹ ู„ูุจูŽุงู„ูุบู ุญููƒู’ู…ูŽุฉู
ุจูุตูุฏููˆุฑูู‡ุง ุจูŽู„ูŽุบูŽ ุงู„ุตู‘ูŽู„ุงุญ ู…ูŽุฏูŽุงู‡ู

28. No fear with his sword, no confinement
With his captivity, his loftiness suffices.

29. The East and West compete towards him
Every tribe answered his call enthusiastically.

ู…ูŽุน ุณูŽูŠู’ุจูู‡ู ูˆูƒูŽููŽุงูƒูŽ ู…ูู†ู’ ุนูŽู„ูŠุงู‡ู

30. And Dar Sabtata and Mariah declare
That soon his hands will contain the two horizons.

31. God supported his command with an aide
Who strengthened what His Godliness concealed in him.

32. His affection was bound to composure as though
The double wrap secured what it wrapped.

ูฃูข. ุงู„ู„ู‘ูŽู‡ู ุฃูŽูŠู‘ูŽุฏูŽ ุฃูŽู…ู’ุฑูŽู‡ู ุจูู…ูุคูŽูŠู‘ูŽุฏู
ู‚ูˆู‘ูŽุงู‡ู ู…ูŽุง ูŠูุฎู’ูููŠู‡ู ู…ูู†ู’ ุชูŽู‚ู’ูˆุงู‡ู

33. The lion of defenders learned his daring
And cubs like him became his equals.

ูฃูฃ. ุนูู‚ูุฏูŽุชู’ ุญูุจูŽุงู‡ู ุนู„ูŽู‰ ุงู„ุฃูŽู†ูŽุงุฉู ูƒุฃูŽู†ู‘ูŽู…ุง
ุซูŽู‡ู’ู„ุงู†ู ู…ุง ุนูู‚ูุฏุชู’ ุนู„ูŽูŠู‡ู ุญูุจุงู‡ู

34. Life flourished if clouds failed to find
Sufficiency in his palmโ€™s irrigation.

ูฃูค. ู„ูŽูŠู’ุซู ุงู„ุญูููŽุงุธู ุชูŽุนูŽู„ู‘ูŽู…ูŽุชู’ ุฅูู‚ู’ุฏูŽุงู…ูŽู‡ู

35. The excellence of Kings is kindness and liberality
And its lowest virtues are wealth and status.

ูŠูŽุญู’ูŠูŽู‰ ูƒูŽููŽู‰ ุงุณุชูุณู’ู‚ูŽุงุกู‡ูŽุง ูƒูŽูู‘ูŽุงู‡ู

36. Greetings to an era adorned by his Sultanate
Whose beauty is not lacking, nor his beauty.

ูฃูฆ. ููŽุถู’ู„ู ุงู„ู…ูู„ููˆูƒู ุณูŽุฌูŽุงุญูŽุฉู‹ ูˆุณูŽู…ูŽุงุญูŽุฉู‹
ุฃูŽุฏู’ู†ูŽู‰ ููŽูˆุงุถูู„ูู‡ุง ุงู„ุบูู†ูŽู‰ ูˆุงู„ุฌูŽุงู‡ู

37. And congratulations on an auspicious feast, succeeded
By a day that followed its dawn with brightness.

38. It unveils darkness with its light as though
The honourable chosen oneโ€™s mark is its mark.

ูƒุงู„ูŠูŽูˆู’ู…ู ุฃูŽุนู’ู‚ูŽุจูŽ ุตูุจู’ุญูŽู‡ู ุจูุถูุญุงู‡ู

39. And it lingers in the garb of beauty, fancying
That its fancy adorns some of his adornment.

ูฃูฉ. ูŠูŽุฌู’ู„ููˆ ุงู„ุฏู‘ูุฌููˆู†ูŽ ุจูู†ููˆุฑูู‡ู ููŽูƒูŽุฃู†ู‘ูŽู…ุง
ุณููŠู…ูŽุง ุงู„ุฃูŽู…ููŠุฑ ุงู„ู…ูุฑุชูŽุถูŽู‰ ุณููŠู…ุงู‡ู

40. Good tidings, prosperity courted me through him
And I attained the fruits of bliss through its branches.

41. By Allah, my misery through him transformed
Into blessings I gained from his bounty.

42. To settle where it settles through his grace.
And hopes often distracted me

ุฅูู„ุง ูˆูŽู‚ูŽุฏู’ ุฃูŽุซู’ุฑูŽูŠู’ุชู ู…ูู†ู’ ู†ูุนู’ู…ูŽุงู‡ู

43. From its plains when shielded from its sight.
It enhanced for me two feasts with a third:

44. Eid, Adha and the day of his approval.
