1. Many a garden arose in bridal finery
To be crowned and begirt by the clouds,
١. ورُبَّ حَديقَةٍ بَرَزَتْ عَروساً
فَتَوَّجَها وطَوَّقها الغَمامُ
2. While through it a streamlet flows
As a sword flashes through a coat of mail.
٢. يُشَقُّ بِجَدْوَلٍ فيها غَديرٌ
كَما يُنْضَى عَلى دِرْعٍ حُسامُ
