1. The exhorter to righteousness extolled it
And the people of happiness strove for its eternity

2. The guardianship of a covenant fulfilled its promise
By entrusting it to its people, the truthful and promise-keeping

3. In its dawn shone the pledge of satisfaction
Brighter than the radiant moon on the horizon of glory

4. It manifested glory and majesty
While around it the finest gems paled

5. With it arrived the happiness of the most fortunate
As good fortune accompanied good fortune

6. And when it came unique among congratulations
Good fortune chose it in the singular Rajaab

7. Religion and world refused any rulers but the sons
Of Abi Hafs, the moons, clouds and lions

8. And if the kings felt confined by it and numbered
Virtues that put the shooting stars to shame in deep darkness

9. The Book of God surpasses all of them
And it surpassed them among the chapters, Surat Al-Hamd

10. In the gardens’ trees is fragrant perfume
Poured out, and the sweet basil is not like the myrtle

11. And all the weapons of war, their striking is fading
But meaning was given precedence, the Indian sword

12. Upon Zakariyya son of Yahya, the pious, the content
As the close met in the morning over roses

13. Upon the approved son of the approved in a meadow
That grew lofty with palms, blossoms and ancestors

14. Upon the self-sufficient and the one emulating his path of moderation
And his likeness in valor, generosity and zeal
