1. The beginnings of conquests have no endings,
Through them armies and ships with later ones have continued.
١. أَوائِل فَتْحٍ ما لَهُنَّ أَوَاخِرُ
تَرَامَتْ بِها جُرْدٌ وَفُلْك مَواخِرُ
2. So these are led by vast deserts,
And those are guided by seas with currents.
٢. فَتِلكَ تُؤَدّيها قِفارٌ بَسابِس
وَهَذِي تُزَجِّيها بِحارٌ زَواخِرُ
3. Except some are pregnant,
And some flee briskly being bachelors.
٣. سَوابِحُ إلا أنَّ بَعْضاً حَوامِلٌ
وبَعْضاً مِن الرَّكْضِ الحَثيثِ ضَوامِرُ
4. The congratulations I have been endowed encompass all,
Thus every human is elated by the good news.
٤. يَعُمُّ الذي خُصتْ به منْ تهانِئ
فَلا بَشرٌ إلا ازْدَهَتْهُ البَشائِرُ
5. The emerging conquests set out unveiling,
Not affected by the darkness of the soldiers.
٥. وَأسْنَى الفُتُوحِ الطَّالِعاتُ سَوَافِراً
ولم تَتَلَثَّم بالقَتَامِ العَساكِرُ
6. Nor did courageous lions plunge into war,
Soaring through the sands as strong horses.
٦. ولا دَلَفَتْ للحرْبِ أُسدٌ خَوادرٌ
تَطيرُ بِها في النقعِ فُتخٌ كَواسِرُ
7. It bestows them without any hesitation,
And it surpasses others in eloquence.
٧. يَجودُ بِها المِقْدار دونَ رَويَّةٍ
وَيَفْتَنُّ سَبْقاً في البَديهَة شاعِرُ
8. And water is not gushing without its joy,
As if the ground has just been dug by shovels.
٨. وَما الماءُ فَوّاراً بغيْرِ احْتِفارهِ
كآخرَ تَفْرِي الأرْضَ عنْهُ المَحافرُ
9. Yahya Al-Murtaza has gotten used to attaining wishes,
Neither shaken nor dejected.
٩. تَعَوَّدَ يَحْيَى المُرْتَضى دَرَك المُنى
ولا هُزّ خَطِّيٌّ ولا سُلَّ بَاتِرُ
10. If he wished, the right flanks would not turn against him,
If he wished, the left flanks would not turn against him.
١٠. فَلَوْ شاءَ ما التَفَّتْ عَلَيهِ مَيامِنٌ
ولَوْ شاءَ ما التَفَّت عَلَيهِ مَياسِرُ
11. And whoever the Sauds fought for,
Would not take the tumultuous lions as comrades.
١١. وَمن حارَبَتْ عنه السُعودُ فَمَا لَهُ
يُشاوِر آسادَ الوَغَى ويُسَاوِرُ
12. He is allied with the Protectors legitimately,
Yet his days ally with him and aid him.
١٢. تَظَاهَرَ شَرْعاً بالحُماةِ وإنَّما
تُظَافِرُه أيّامُه وتُظَاهِرُ
13. Like his views, his banners are lofty,
Khalid, the eternal grace, is their ally.
١٣. كآرائِهِ رَايَاتُهُ في عُلوُهِّا
لَها خالِدُ الإقْبالِ إلفٌ مؤَازِرُ
14. The beasts of the wilderness are wary of his power,
Yet what they fear is safe from his assaults.
١٤. تُحاذِرُ أَمْلاكُ البَسيطَة صَوْلَهُ
ويَأمَنُ مِنْ صَوْلاتِها ما تُحاذِرُ
15. His sufficiency lies in his capability, for he
Is victorious by Allah and a victor for Allah.
١٥. كَفاهُ اتِّصافاً بالْكِفَايَةِ أنّهُ
مِن اللَّهِ مَنْصورٌ وللَّهِ ناصِرُ
16. He who firmly guides with auspicious omens,
So the polytheists have no luck in the sanctuary of Islam.
١٦. هُوَ القائِمُ الهادِي بأيْمَنِ طائِر
فَمَا بِحِمَى الإِسْلام للشرْكِ طائِرُ
17. He overlooked the horizons while they were desolate,
Thus they returned developed with buildings.
١٧. أطَلّ على الآفاقِ وهيَ بَلاِقعٌ
فعادَتْ مِنَ التّعميرِ وهيَ عَمائِرُ
18. And he ruled the subjects when their souls were lost,
Quarrelling bitterly while their hearts poured.
١٨. وسَاسَ الرّعايا والنفوسُ شَوارِدٌ
تناكَرُ ضِغْناً والقُلُوبُ نَوافِرُ
19. So excellent is what they have reached through his efforts,
And deeds are beautified through the efforts of the generous.
١٩. فَيَا حُسْنَ ما صاروا إلَيْه بِسعْيِه
وتَحْسُنُ بالسّعْي الكريمِ المَصائِرُ
20. Those who were misguided or escaped were disciplined by what he instilled,
And his call inspired the absent and the present.
٢٠. تَصافَى بِما أوْلاه دَانٍ ونازِحٌ
وأَثَّ على مَسْعاهُ بادٍ وحاضِرُ
21. An organized army surrounded him for fortune,
So the nomads and the foreigners submitted to him.
٢١. وحَفَّ بِهِ للسَّعْدِ جُنْدٌ مُجَنَّدٌ
فَذَلَّتْ أعاريبٌ لَهُ وبَرابِرُ
22. It is enough what occurred in Hawwara and Zanata,
And the fallen castles of Suleim and Omar.
٢٢. بِحَسْبِكَ في هوَّارَةٍ وزَنَاتَةٍ
وقائِعُ هابَتْها سُلَيْم وعامِرُ
23. Their arrival will be returned to slaughter
Due to their momentous traces and crimes.
٢٣. تُعادُ إلى النَّحْر الوَحِيَّ قُدومُها
بِما عَظُمَتْ آثارُها والجَرائِرُ
24. The rows of the innocent will praise what his light and might have worn away,
When the secrets are revealed on the Day of Judgment.
٢٤. سَيَحْمَدُ ما أبْلَى نَداهُ وبَأسُهُ
صُفوفُ البَرايا يَوْمَ تُبلَى السَّرائِرُ
25. Spring has bent the times, so the shade is draped,
Covering the meadows and the blossoming garden.
٢٥. رَبِيعاً ثَنَى الأزْمانَ فالظلُّ سَجْسَجٌ
يَفيءُ على الضّاحين والرَّوْضِ ناضِرُ
26. He has erected pillars of truth with strong ones,
And tied the bonds of faith with firm ones.
٢٦. لَقَدْ شادَ رُكنَ الحقِّ منه حُلاحِلٌ
وشَدَّ عُرَى الإيمانِ منْهُ عُراعِرُ
27. His expanse can suffice the lions, and the lions are hissing,
And his clouds can suffice the rain, and the rain is pouring.
٢٧. تَكفُّ سطاهُ الليثَ والليثُ هاصِرٌ
وتَكفِي لهاهُ الغَيثَ والغَيثُ هاجِرُ
28. He stretches his hand in every righteousness,
And it suffices you - an opponent - his gatherings and his appearances.
٢٨. أمدُّ الوَرَى في كلِّ صالِحَةٍ يَداً
وحَسْبكَ خافٍ مِنْ ثناهُ وظَاهِرُ
29. He bubbled virtuously in the heights, so traits were purified by him,
Sacred and wholesome pillars.
٢٩. تَبَحْبَحَ في العَليا فَطَابَتْ شَمائِلٌ
مُقَدَّسةٌ مِنْهُ وطَابَتْ عَناصِرُ
30. Leaning into dangerous adventures,
Only the cautious attain the risky affairs.
٣٠. مُكِبٌّ على خوْضِ الخِطارِ وإنَّما
يَنالُ خَطِيراتِ الأُمورِ المُخاطِرُ
31. He relaxes happily whenever the wild doves coo,
And tents are erected from the bustling sands.
٣١. يَمِيدُ ارْتِياحاً كلَّما غنّتِ الظُّبى
ومُدَّتْ مِنَ النّقْع المُثارِ سَتائِرُ
32. As is his habit, if a composer were to stand
Eulogizing him or a speaker were to orate.
٣٢. كعادَتِه إن قَام يَشْعُرُ نَاظِمٌ
بِأمْداحِهِ أو قامَ يَخْطُبُ ناثِرُ
33. Those who rose above him before will fall short of him,
And where are the stars compared to the illuminating sun?
٣٣. تَقَاصَرَ عَنْهُ مَنْ تَطاوَلَ قَبْلَهُ
وأينَ مِن الشمسِ النجومُ الزَّواهِرُ
34. His caliphate has terminated every opponent,
Thus no rebel remains except one who will be severed.
٣٤. خِلافَتُهُ أوْدَت بِكُلِّ مُخالِفٍ
فَلا ثائِرٌ إِلا غَدا وهو بائِرُ
35. As if the decrees are bent on him,
So none stood except those decrees sat him.
٣٥. كأَنَّ عَلَيْهِ لِلْمقادِر رَغْبَةً
فَما قامَ إلا أقْعَدَتْهُ المَقَادرُ
36. Through it, righteousness has erased misguidance, effacing it,
Can the blindnesses remain while the dawn is evident?
٣٦. بِها نَسَخَ الرُّشْدُ الضَّلالَةَ ماحِياً
وَهلْ تَثْبُتُ الظَّلماءُ والصُّبحُ باهرُ
37. The Crown Prince was diligent in his path,
Sharing its burdens and partaking in it.
٣٧. تَحَرَّى وَلِيُّ العَهْد فِيه سَبيلَهُ
يُقَاسِمُه أعبَاءَها ويُشَاطِرُ
38. If he remains one day with a raised sword in war,
He has also spent the night of peace while his eyelids were alert.
٣٨. لئِن ظلَّ يوْمَ الحرْبِ للسيْفِ شَاهِراً
لَقَدْ بَاتَ لَيْل السلم والطّرْفُ سَاهِرُ
39. He refused leisure except with fervent exertion,
Accompanied by the firmness of resolve and early rising.
٣٩. أبَى سُؤْدَداً إلا الحَزَامةَ سِيرَةً
يُرَاوِحُها ثَبْتَ الحِجى وَيُباكِرُ
40. Noble inheritances that the generous have bequeathed,
Some of his great efforts and traces.
٤٠. سَجَايَا كِرامٍ أوْرَثوه كِرامَها
فبَعْضُ مَساعيهِ العُلى والمَآثِرُ
41. May you have goodness for ennobling him with a birth,
Since the righteous only beget the righteous.
٤١. لَكَ الخَيْرُ أنْ شَرَّفتَهُ بولادَةٍ
فَما تَلِدُ الأخيارَ إلا الأخايِرُ
42. And if you groom him for the caliphate by supervising him,
Then sights have been pleased with that prospect.
٤٢. وإنْ تَتَعَهَّدْ بالخِلافَة ناظِراً
إليهِ فقَدْ قرّتْ بذاكَ النَّواظِرُ
43. He is truly the light and the guidance - whoever has strayed
Has been rightly guided by them - and the lost wanderer.
٤٣. هُوَ النُّور حَقاً والهُدى شدّ ما اقْتدَى
بِها حَائِدٌ ضَلَّ السبيلَ وحَائِرُ
44. His name is beloved, below the imams, and his name,
If they appoint him imam, graces the pulpits.
٤٤. حَبَتْ وَسْمَها دُونَ الأئِمة واسمَها
إمَاماً إذا سَمّتْهُ تُزْهَى المَنابِرُ
45. He has adorned himself with the most beautiful ornaments,
To delight sights that have insight.
٤٥. تَحَلَّى منَ الإخْباتِ أزْينَ حِلْيَةٍ
لِتَنْعَم أبْصارٌ لها وبَصائِرُ
46. So no rebel proceeds except being drawn to his heights,
And no straying one proceeds except to his abode.
٤٦. فلا جامحٌ إلا لِعَلْياه جَانِحٌ
ولا صَائِلٌ إلا لِمَثْواه صَائِرُ
47. Congratulations - he has come to the splendid figure
Above all figures, lowered from his eminence.
٤٧. هَنيئاً مَريئاً لِلْمرِيَّة أنْ أَوَتْ
إلَى مَظْهَر تَنْحَطُّ عنْهُ المَظاهِرُ
