1. The prince Muhammad granted my request
So I praised him as I ought and lauded his excellence

2. And when his messengers brought me the good tidings
I prostrated myself, for prostration itself is praise of Allah

3. And I hoped for yet more satisfaction through gratitude
For what blessing equals satisfaction that increases?

4. I have never neglected the duties you charged me with
Some of my witnesses being yesterday, today and tomorrow

5. Concerns that sufficed me, lessons to be learned from events,
And for me they singled out both settler and nomad

6. So I owe no favor but to him for my deliverance
Through the auspicious efforts of the generous, no other

7. He who is a branch of the imamate and guidance
His shelter from harm is glory and happiness

8. I found the legal prescriptions repealed, every time
I drew near in utter sincerity, farthest and nearest

9. My share of the virtues is the profession of them
That caused me to live alongside one who knew only good fortune

10. And destiny has a destiny that has ever abandoned me
As if it and I were a beam of light and the blind

11. So he gathered what had scattered me and what I had scattered
And buttressed my drinking and my drinking that tottered

12. And he was open about granting me more and kept favoring me
For him are resources for good works and a spring

13. And it had been a passion to which passion delivered me
But concepts supported by him saved me from it

14. Through his son I implored the imam to intercede for me
And excellent is Muhammad as intercessor for sinners
