1. O eloquent one, sweet of tongue
Son of the lofty, who brings joy to venerable companions,
2. And through whom glory is attained
In the flourishing meadows of Iraq,
3. By God, never has a star risen
That reached the full moon in splendor,
4. You summoned me to intimacy in a garden
Where the breeze of intimacy was fragrant and pleasing,
5. I am at your service, O full moon of eminence and dew,
May time and the specter of separation never overcome you.
