1. A wayward fool imprisoned in her ignorance
Finds in her Lord no guidance or support

2. Her wretched self rebels though steeped in vice
And sees her morals utterly cut off

3. Humiliation wraps her youth and strength
And arrogance still sings her wanton tunes

4. Of people filled with guile and trickery
Whose prosperity was but illusion

5. When they donned power, dignity, renown
And claimed a land their valor had redeemed

6. Made smooth its ways and soothed its discontents
Should drought of kindness make it dry, their grace

7. Would render it fertile once again
Virtue is not beyond them, nor exceed their grasp

8. May God preserve them for the sake
Of faith they keep alive and tend

9. And knowledge whose keen judgment guides their steps
And praise they utter and remembrance chant

10. Distinction is their mantle, not their quest
They seek no more than what is justly theirs

11. God grant them life to practice ideals true
And wisdom's rule that they exemplify

12. And grace to chant His praise and thanks renew
