1. I tried patience for what befell from misfortunes
And it was great so the patience was frustrated

2. So I took refuge with lamenting holding fast
When there is no settling upon embers for one gathering firewood

3. Airing from the heat called Father of Flame
And sighs carrying the firewood

4. Deeming that if I said support me
And the religion sought help I would not be attributed to lying

5. And how can one lie who laments an imam of guidance
So what can the dust say about gold

6. Or how can crying be counted on incense sticks
Who was originally from family and from wood

7. So there is nothing upon me if I say without embarrassment
And fervor is in ardour and tears are in outpouring

8. And patience is in anxiety and the heart is in burning
And the master of non-Arabs in this time and Arabs

9. Cries for the religion whoever cries for it so whoever
Said he cries for the religion did no harm

10. So expressing sadness in crying for the religion is forgiven
Rather, it is obligatory for us in truthfulness and propriety

11. For this sake I lamented tearfully
For the death of one whose death left no tearful lamenter

12. The approval, our Shaykh al-Fasi, died accompanied
By the cedar and protection and success in seeking

13. Muhammad the praiseworthy departed while the rest of
People are infirm from suspicion

14. The truthful trustee, righteous one, secluded died
Who made hypocrisy his constitution, well-versed in deceit

15. He died so revived greatest of sorrows, greater than he who
Killed all motives of vanity and play

16. In sixteen after a thousand with a hundred
On Thursday which is at the end of Rajab

17. Who will revive the knowledge that has faded
Who will express the subtleties and the elite

18. Who will revive the realities making them true
Who will dictate the niceties without toil

19. Who will narrate the rarities making them adorned
Who will recite the collections and books

20. And who can assist me in composing what I do not see
Of his miracles as shooting stars do

21. And who knows his majesty that I do not know
Of his desire for the eternal and awe

22. After you those remaining did not consider in hardship
One like you of lineage, O best genealogist

23. And they will not be stricken with contempt like this, never
For the best transformer to the best transformed

24. You lived commendably and died fortunate, and you
Cured us with living and youthfulness

25. Are you remembering us before God, and you
Did not forget us so whoever you remember will not disappoint

26. So be for us a predecessor if not a successor
For the successor, his rank is often the highest

27. Between us is a womb that observes our honor
Whom the eyes of glory and nobility observed

28. And between us is a connection keeping him connected
Whom the heights connected with the firmest of connections

29. And lineage in the heights not fabricated
Enveloping him, good attributed to the best father

30. And between us is a closeness to God overseeing it
Who drew him near the closest of kinships

31. And you are that, so I do not know anyone like you in
What I said in truth, neither from a spring nor west

32. Rather, you are the master of the people of the time altogether
God created you to relieve worries

33. And for the wistful you save him
When darkness of misfortunes overwhelms him

34. And for one who strayed in imaginations, you guide him
With the guidance of one who enjoins right, not one who earns

35. And for one who slept in transgression, you awaken him
With the resolve of one who calls to God enjoining right

36. And for one who was rendered immobile by disobedience, you raise him
With the concern of one devoted to truth, persisting

37. And for one who was defiant of meaning, you clarify for him
Until he becomes accustomed in the eye of one who anticipates

38. So how many maiden compositions authored
He surpassed upon platforms from wonder

39. Alas! What he unlocked with his explanation the strong fortress
It ended at the impenetrable refuge

40. Remaining for him is praise, its blossoms beloved
Like a meadow showered at night by clouds

41. And the dawn visited him, so it carried
From its diffusion what comforts the sorrowful

42. Remaining for him are apparels of presentation pleasing
In the adornment of silk over lavishness withdrawing

43. So God sanctified a grave containing His greatest
The greatest of the greatest of the dead over time

44. And fragrance with sweet basil supporting
A soul not pleased with the delusions of life

45. And greetings clung to him, their blossoms
Greet with most pleasant of enchantments

46. And kindness from the Merciful, Exalted Refuge
And mercy from the Compassionate, endless in breadth

47. And breaths of approval benefitting him
With it lives all who call upon him of multitudes
