2. Alas for my passion after you are gone
Alas, my soul is departing in agony

3. In the meadows we once gathered joyfully
When love gave us soothing comfort and rest

4. From a love my tears grew
When my longing engraved my fervor and lamented loudly

5. Since you left I have found no pleasure
In anything that brings joy to one in good cheer

6. And my heart has been yours
Engrossed in ardour and affection since you came here

7. And my censurerโ€™s blame goes astray
Like a lamp that is extinguished at dawnโ€™s first light

8. Shall I obey a censurer in love
When I am none but a passionate lover of them?

9. No, by this ink which noble writers
In the morn have extracted from pure clarity

10. By merit nourished which spreads benevolence
By clemency watered which brings prosperity

11. Our Shaykh, the ingenious one, whose mind
Has borne meaningful thoughts like fine weapons

12. The virtuous one whose wisdomโ€™s brilliance
Illuminated the darkness like the light of lamps

13. His ambition raised above him
The flag of glorious and valiant honour

ุฑูŽุงูŠูŽุฉูŽ ุงู„ู’ู…ูŽุฌู’ุฏู ุงู„ุตู‘ูŽู…ููŠู…ู ุงู„ุตู‘ููุฑุงุญู’

14. And excellence threw over him a mantle
Which the right hand of success had woven

15. And guidance rooted from his comprehension
With the right hand of fortune, the most direct guide

16. So luck came to be at ease through him
And fervour came to retire through him

17. What his pens produce surpasses
The traces of white and the strikes of spears

18. A man whose manners make you forget
The ways of the most graceful verdant meadows

19. His face gleams from his joy
As your cheek was made radiant by a flashing smile

ู…ูุซู’ู„ูŽ ู…ูŽุง ุญูŽูŠู‘ูŽุชู’ูƒูŽ ุฎูŽูˆู’ุฏูŒ ุฑูŽุฏูŽุงุญู’

20. Say to one who has plunged into his praise
That it is not but the howling of leaves

21. He who attempts to limit his eulogies
Has entered into a deep and gloomy valley

22. Can poetry praise a man
Who has gained knowledge too vast for the mind to grasp?

ูขูข. ุฃูŠูŽููŽูŠู ุดูุนู’ุฑูŒ ุจูู…ูŽุฏู’ุญู ุงู…ู’ุฑูุฆู
ุญูŽุงุฒูŽ ุนูู„ู’ู…ุงู‹ ุถูŽุงู‚ูŽ ุนูŽู†ู’ู‡ู ุงู„ู’ุจูŽุฑูŽุงุญู’

23. The books of al-Bukhari were fortunate through him
Since he began to reveal its traits and set them free

24. By the authentic hadiths, spreading their fragrance
On the day they were completed, musk and ambergris blew far

25. The narrations of hadiths smile
With clarity like the smile of dawn

ุนูŽู†ู’ ูˆูุถููˆุญู ูƒูŽุงุจู’ุชูุณูŽุงู…ู ุงู„ุตู‘ูŽุจูŽุงุญู’

26. They never cease to reveal their secrets
Like the morning breeze that rekindles the plants

27. And your praise which wafts fragrantly
As the gentle breeze blows from a stocked perfume jar
