1. Do I ask the people of peace about stinginess?
You are safe and remain in the peace of the land,
١. أَأَهْلَ سَلاَ أَهْلَ السُّلُوِّ عَنِ الْبُخْلِ
سَلِمْتُمْ وَدُمْتُمْ فِي مُسَالَمَةِ الْمَحْلِ
2. Especially those of you in the fortresses, for you
Are people whose company makes one forget the warmth of relatives.
٢. خُصُوصاً بِهَا أَهْلَ الرِّبَاطِ فَإِنَّهُمْ
أُنَاسٌ يُنَسِّي أُنْسُهُمْ عَطْفَةَ الأَهْلِ
3. They cure the illnesses of purpose with their generosity,
And quench the thirst of the healthy with the vessel of nobility.
٣. يُدَاوُونَ أَدْوَاءَ النَّوَى بِنَوَالِهِمْ
وَيَسْقُونَ عَافِيهِمْ بِآنِيَةِ الْفَضْلِ
