1. O Abu Ya'za, O comforter of people,
O melter of the troubles of the distressed,

2. We have prepared to depart from the land of Fez,
Seeking your sweet-smelling breath.

3. So he overflowed with abundant generosity,
Your excellent son, Abu al-Abbas,

4. The resolute one, in whose eyes could be seen
The radiance of nobility, like a guiding lamp.

5. Patient with delegations, like his father,
My master, the patient bearer of burdens.

6. So favor him with your secret, for he is the most
Worthy of that among all people.

7. His abode has brought us all together,
He scattered it, though it contained no people.

8. And he has granted us, with hopes, security,
So now, which of us is hardy?

9. And for your sake, he has brought us every good,
And let us drink deep of his kindness.

10. So pour upon him your flowing generosity,
For he is the feeder, the pourer of drinks.

11. And may God reward you for us abundantly,
O comfort of the exalted heavens.

12. By His right with you, O my refuge,
May our honor be safe from disgrace.

13. And may we avoid the schemes of the deceitful,
And rise up, despite the vile.

14. And by his closeness with you, which is a matter
You must not neglect from my requests.

15. And quench the heat of our distress with your help,
For it relieves me of bankruptcy.

16. And peace be upon you, O best of supports,
Whose aid disgraces adversaries.
