1. I wrote in prose some verses of poetry
That may benefit a brother seeking joy and amusement
١. كَتَبْتُ بِمَكْتَبٍ أَبْيَاتَ شِعْرٍِ
تُفِيدُ أَخَا النُّهَى مَرَحاً وَزَهْوَا
2. Their eloquence outshines any description
So leave confusing descriptions be
٢. يُمِيتُ بَدِيعُهُنَّ كُلَّ وَصْفٍ
لَهُ فَاتْرُكْ بُحَيْرَ الْوَصْفِ رَهْوَا
3. And say the recitation of God's book is enough
And part from one who errantly describes in amusement
٣. وَقُلْ مَتْلَى كِتَابِ اللهِ وَاكْفُفْ
وَفَارِقْ مَنْ سَهَا فِي الْوَصْفِ سَهْوَا
4. And it was complete when Hayy
Tore his shirt in ecstasy and play
٤. وَتَمَّ بِنَاؤُهُ إِذَ شَقَّ حَيٌّ
جُيُوبَ قَمِيصِهِ طَرَباً وَلَهْوَا
