1. O King, whose rest
Is like rain in times of drought,

2. O beloved of the archers, O crown of glory,
O full moon of this age in its firmament,

3. O one who humbles the stars with his generosity,
O one who saves the grieved from their sorrows,

4. O dwellers in the land of ‘Abs, I have received
From his generosity and kindness,

5. What cannot be described, estimated or comprehended
By anyone in words from his tongue,

6. A King who encompasses all the highest ranks,
With the loftiness of glory that fills his court,

7. A Lord with whom the glory of time and its people,
And the ages have gained pride from his crown,

8. And when he unleashes, all the people fear
His might, and the lion in his presence,

9. The manifester of justice in his days,
Through his traits and equity in his lands,

10. I have spent the evening in a fertile oasis near him,
Strolling in it and in its orchards,

11. And I saw his blessings overflowing, its water
Speaking of his gifts and the generosity of its branches,

12. In a garden that combined spring in its spring,
With every art shining through its buds,

13. And its birds of every kind sang loudly
That fate is obedient to his reins,

14. A King - when he marched on the day of battle,
The enemy halted, confused by his grandeur,

15. And victory was among his companions, over all people,
While fortune and success were among his aides,

16. So I will thank him amongst the chieftains,
And challenge the horsemen in his battlefield.
