يا روضة الوضاح قد

1. O garden of al-Waddah, you have
Turned away Waddah of Yemen

١. يا رَوضةَ الوضَّاحِ قَد
عَنَّيتِ وَضَّاحَ اليَمَن

2. So give your friend a drink of wine
Unadulterated and pure

٢. فاسقِي خَلِيلَكِ مِن شَرا
بٍ لَم يُكَدِّره الدَّرَن

3. The wind is the wind of a traveler
And the taste is the taste of first fruits

٣. الريحُ ريحُ سَفَرجَلٍ
والطَّعمُ طَعمُ سُلافِ دَنّ

4. Two doves excite me to come
To you, the male calls his mate

٤. إني تُهَيِّجِنُي إِلَي
كِ حَمَامَتَانِ عَلى فَنَن

5. To settle down in love of home
No good in gossiping tales

٥. الزَّوجُ يَدعو إِلفَهُ
فَتَطَاعَما حُبَّ السَكَن

6. Nor a companion when cunning
So disobey the slanderers

٦. لا خيرَ في نَثِّ الحدي
ثِ ولا الجَليسِ إذا فَطَن

7. The words of slanderers are loss
When slanderers come advising

٧. فاعصِي الوُشَاةَ فَإِنَّما
قَولُ الوشَاةِ هو الغَبَن

8. And warning you from me
A lover slipped in softly

٨. إِنَّ الوُشَاةَ إِذَا أَتَو
كِ تَنَصحُوا ونَهَوكِ عَن

9. Me and your life O my home
I was told of your change

٩. دَسَّت حُبَيبَةُ مَوهِناً
إِنِّي وَعَيشِكِ يَا سَكَن

10. By a trusted informer
And I thought you had done it

١٠. أُبلِغتُ عنكِ تَبَدّلاً
وأَتَى بِذَلِكِ مُؤتَمَن

11. I nearly died of sorrow
My tears flowed then I said

١١. وَظَنَنتُ أَنَّكِ قَد فَعَل
تِ فَكِدتُ مِن حَزَنٍ أُجَن

12. With whom can I replace you
Hush, you are not believed

١٢. ذَرَفَت دُموعي ثمَّ قُل
تُ بِمَن يُبَادِلُني بِمَن

13. He could not do what I suspect
If you saw our beautiful

١٣. اسكُت فَلَستَ مُصَدَّقاً
مَا كَانَ يَفعَلُ ذَا أَظُن

14. Friend shun us then love us
By God, I'm sick with grief

١٤. إِنِّي وَجَدِّكَ لَو رَأَي
تُ خَلِيلَنا ذَاكَ الحَسَن

15. Tell him when you see him
That he has made hearts mad

١٥. يَجفُوهُ ثُمَّ يُحِبُّنَا
واللَّهِ مِتُّ مِنَ الحَزَن

16. I left my loved ones for him
And met few of family and home

١٦. أَخبره إِمَّا جِئتَهُ
أَنَّ الفؤادَ بهِ يُجَن

17. You left me till when
I hung white as a wristband

١٧. أَبعَضتُ فيهِ أَحِبَّتي
وقَلَيتُ أهلي وَالوَطَن

18. You tried to regain our love
Losing it in summer

١٨. أَتَرَكتَنِي حَتَّى إِذَا
عُلِّقتُ أبيَضَ كالشَّطَن

19. If it were said O Waddah arise
And choose for yourself or wish

١٩. أَنشَأتَ تَطلُبُ وَصلَنا
في الصَّيفِ ضَيَّعتِ اللَبَن

20. I would not choose the garden By Him who led pilgrims with provisions

٢٠. لَو قِيلَ يَا وَضَّاحُ قُم
فَاختَر لِنَفسِكَ أَو تَمَن

٢١. لَم أَعدُ رَوضَةَ وَالَّذي
سَاقَ الحَجِيجُ لَهُ البُدنُ
