1. I endured in my love, though I've no strength,
And my sighs bear witness to my passion.
١. تَجَلَّدتُ في حُبِّي وَما بي قُوَّةٌ
وَلي زَفَراتٌ شاهِداتٌ عَلى عِشقي
2. Though I intend a thing without her knowing,
Others guess it, but no word escapes my lips.
٢. وَإِنِّي لَأَنوي الشَّيءَ مِن غَيرِ عِلمِها
فَيَعرِفُهُ غَيري وَلَم يَجرِ في نُطقي
3. As if the eyes of all the world were fixed
Upon me, so my love for you none can conceal.
٣. كَأَنَّ عُيونَ العالِمينَ مُطِلَّةٌ
عَلَيَّ فَما يَخفى هَواكِ عَلى خَلقِ
4. She blames me though she is the one at fault;
So I prefer her truthfulness to my own truth.
٤. تَجَنَّى عَلَيَّ الذَّنبَ وَهيَ مُسيئَةٌ
فأوثرها بِالصِّدقِ فيهِ عَلى صِدقي
