1. O Caliph of Allah, long has been our separation from you
Ten years, then ten more, then ten again after that

2. So the servant complains to his Master of his loneliness
If the servant had patience after this patience

3. Renew for your servant a light by which he can be illuminated
From the light of your face which clears hearing and sight

4. He who does not see a sun or moon cannot follow
The path of moderation he wants to take
