1. By my life! Eyes I have seen
But mine were not sated by the sight
١. لَعَمري لَقَد قَرَّت عُيونٌ رَأَيتُها
وَلكِنَّ عَيني لَم تُمَتَّع مِنَ النَّظَر
2. When she is wrathful she inclines fate itself
To do her bidding against me, which it never disobeyed
٢. إِذا سَخِطَت أَومَت إِلى الدَّهرِ بِالَّذي
تُحاوِلُهُ فِيَّ فَلم يَعصِها القَدَر
3. No fault in her but she's only human
Else she'd be third to sun and moon in rank
٣. وَلا عَيبَ إِلَّا أَنَّها بَشَرِيَّةٌ
فَلَولاهُ كانَت ثالِث الشَّمسِ وَالقَمَر
4. If God afflicted a people with love for her
Then God has blessed the lover when He ordained
٤. لَئِن كانَ أَشقى اللَّهُ قَوماً بِحُبِّهِم
فَقَد أَسعَدَ اللَّهُ المُحِبَّ إِذا قَدَر
