1. I was gifted a pearl from my brethren
It has no value or price to me
١. إِنّي رُزِقتُ مِنَ الإِخوانِ جَوهَرَةً
ما إِن لَها قيمَةٌ عِندي وَلا ثَمَنُ
2. So I have no qualms being stingy with it
As time passes, it remains stored with me
٢. فَلَستُ مُعتَذِراً مِن أَن أَشُحَّ بِها
وَلا يَزالُ لَدَيَّ الدَهرُ يَختَزِنُ
3. Such that no estrangement or boredom finds its way
No reproach or resentment against it accrues
٣. بِحَيثُ لا يَهتَدي هَجرٌ وَلا مَلَلٌ
وَلا يَطورُ بِها عَتبٌ وَلا ضَغَنُ
4. Betrayal is not my nature or morals
To it, I have no eye nor ear
٤. فَما الخِيانَةُ مِن شَأني وَلا خُلُقي
وَلَيسَ عِندي لَها عَينٌ وَلا أُذُنُ
