1. Life has passed and reproach has ceased
Gray hair has appeared and the dye is fading
١. تَوَلّى العُمرُ وَاِنقَطَعَ العِتابُ
وَلاحَ الشَيبُ وَاِفتُضِحَ الخِضابُ
2. I have truly hated myself in my old age
So how can the plump-cheeked one love me
٢. لَقَد أَبغَضتُ نَفسي في مَشيبي
فَكَيفَ تُحِبُّني الخَودُ الكِعابُ
