1. O what an affliction I did not expect
Is there no resurrection for one slain by estrangement with reunification
١. أَيا فِتنَةً ما كُنتُ مُنتَظِراً لَها
أَما لِقَتيلِ الهَجرِ بِالوَصلِ مِن بَعثِ
2. The vanguards of my passion find no rest
And my master is harsh, he feels no tenderness or sympathy
٢. طَلائِعُ شَوقي لا يَقُرُّ قَرارُها
وَمَولايَ قاسٍ لا يَرِقُّ وَلا يَرثي
3. I will perish if his oath upon me persists
So my Lord, reach me and make him break his oath
٣. هَلَكتُ لَئِن دامَت عَلَيَّ يَمينُهُ
فَيا رَبِّ أَدرِكني وَوَفِّقهُ لِلحَنثِ
