1. I was a man with a guarantee in al-Ghor
And another in Najd, neither restoring nor initiating

2. Sometimes I turn my eyes towards Tihama
And sometimes I turn my eyes longingly towards Najd

3. I cry when I leave Hind, a youthful lady
And I cry when I leave Da’d over Da’d

4. Youth and adolescence were friends of my youth but they left
Leaving me alone with their spoils

5. By Allah, I do not know if the blessings of Paradise
Have hosted me or if anyone feels my passion

6. So do not blame me if I despair, for I do not see
Anyone else enduring the sighs of love
