1. You are the one who made my mischief dear to the wilderness
And to me my homelands are no lands but them
١. وَأَنتِ التي حَبَّبتِ شَغبي إِلى بَدا
إِلَيَّ وَأَوطاني بِلادٌ سِواهُما
2. It dawned in this guise then in another
So the two valleys were pleasant each
٢. وَحَلَّت بِهَذا حَلَّةً ثُمَّ أَصبَحَت
بِأُخرى فَطابَ الوادِيان كِلاهُما
3. When my eyes shed tears I feign having an eye disease
Though dignity, if the doctor knew the cause of them
٣. إِذا ذَرَفَت عَينايَ أَعتَلُّ بالقَذى
وَعَزَّةُ لَو يَدري الطَبيبُ قَذاهُما
4. If only they would shed tears since they first started
In return for one who rewarded kindness, I would reward them
٤. فَلَو تُذرِيانِ الدَمعَ مُنذُ استَهَلَّتا
عَلى إِثرِ جازي نِعمَةٍ لَجَزاهُما
