1. Do not confuse duty with possibility,
And be attentive in distinguishing between them.

2. Duty is true existence, while
Anything else is non-existent possibility.

3. Neither one has changed
From what it was eternally, my son.

4. This true existence prevails
Over all determinations, carefully

5. Attending, with its knowledge, to the rising
Of its heavens and earth, even to everything refined.

6. It is abundant in its manifestations
And one in its most evident essence.

7. Formatting the particles, its existence brings them
Into being through the guarded pen.

8. It composes things out of them,
Depicting them as superior or inferior,

9. So that you see it manifestly
Speaking tongues through what it has composed.

10. You see it in the form of a fountain,
And at times in the shape of a verdant garden.

11. And at times in the shape of a full moon
On a graceful, bending branch.

12. It is that which has transcended in itself
Every depicted form from eyes,

13. While the ignorant denier in his blindness,
And the knower, live in bliss.

14. Blessed is God, rich and without need,
Whom the servant, rich through Him, knows sensually.
