1. We are a people who found death in love with Him,
In the manifestation of His true existence in us,
١. نحن قوم متنا به وفنينا
بتجلي وجوده الحق فينا
2. And we were gathered to Him, away from all others,
And we entered His eternal Gardens.
٢. وحُشرنا إليه عمن سواه
ودخلنا جنانه خالدينا
3. A moon in which our glory never ceases,
Our beings clarified His essence,
٣. قمر لا نضام فيه اجتلاء
بينته ذواتنا تبيينا
4. And if existence darkened around Him,
The unseen illuminated Him now and then.
٤. وإذا أظلم الكيان عليه
أطلعته الغيوب حيناً فحينا
5. O my companions! These are breezes
From gardens we came to Him in,
٥. يا أخلاي هذه نفحات
من رياض بها إليه أتينا
6. So smell the buds and roses from it,
And jasmine, myrtle and jessamine.
٦. فلتشمّوا الأقاح والورد منها
والخزامى والآس والياسمينا
7. Presences in which existence was manifested,
Adorned for those who see, adorned,
٧. حضرات بها الوجود تجلَّى
زيَّنَتْه لمن يرى تزيينا
8. We praised the divine journey to them,
From where we came to the trusted station.
٨. قد حمدنا السرى بهن إليها
حيث منها جئنا المقام الأمينا
9. It is the Mother of the Book, the seven paired,
Revealed twice, intellectually and religiously,
٩. وهي أم الكتاب سبع المثاني
نزلت مرتين عقلاً ودينا
10. We ascended its attributes and degrees,
And we drank its pure, cool air.
١٠. فرقينا صفاتها درجات
وشربنا تسنيمها الصِرفَ عينا
11. And we recited its verses and read them,
They are passionate and the clear Book,
١١. وتلونا آياتها وقرأنا
هنَّ حاميم والكتابَ المبينا
12. And meanings of meanings appeared to us,
For meanings initiating its essence.
١٢. وبدت عندنا معاني معانٍ
لمعان بذاتها تبتدينا
13. We learned, and the Book and the description from it,
While it is an essence beyond an essence that will not be clarified,
١٣. علمنا والكتاب والوصف منها
وهي ذات وراء ذا لن تبينا
14. How will it not be clarified in all, and be manifested,
While it is a light that never ceases to be evident?
١٤. كيف في الكل لن تبين وبانت
وهي نور لما يزل مستبينا
15. And its three perspectives are darkness,
Vanishing in its clear, certain essence,
١٥. واعتباراتها الثلاث ظلام
زائل عندها عياناً يقينا
16. They divided it essentially, not perspectively,
Then they went astray while we were guided in it.
١٦. ثلّثوها حقيقةً لا اعتباراً
ثم ضلّوا ونحن فيها هدينا
17. So know existence like this and realize,
You will know the Truth and the damned liars,
١٧. فاعرف الكل هكذا وتحقيق
تعرف الحق والكفور اللعينا
