1. I quench my regrets with wine from my cup and drink
What they left for me of my remaining wine

2. So I was last of them in drinking but first
In drunkenness with what the cupbearer left of joy

3. The remainder of God is better, said our Creator
So make the saying true, O my people and friends

4. And this is the hand of my beloved, it is my hand
By touching it, I got all my Creator's covenant

5. Tell those who refused my gathering and moved away
Who will protect you in future from the protector?

6. This drink and this brimming cup
Filled with wine to the rims of my vessels

7. You rise and fall from your highest position
To the abyss of your ignorance about me, O disappointment of the elevating one

8. A thirsty one carrying water in his containers
And does not know about it because of his bad manners

9. The generous drink with good assumptions
And your bad assumption is deprivation of the pure

10. You must close the door that
God's hand opened so you remain outside the perimeter
