1. He whose companion is God,
His kind among people is few.

2. Alas! Alas! This one -
His soul died for the truth.

3. And was washed with selflessness,
And his body was but a trace.

4. He who saw him,
Saw a youth whose senses were gone,

5. Whose mind was confused,
And whose day was as his yesterday.

6. No religious duty escaped him -
The five pillars preserved within him.

7. God's commands and prohibitions
Were clear to him, though a veil covers unveiling.

8. Nothing changed his state
Or removed his distress.

9. His letters are firm -
With them his foundation was set.

10. A servant and master needing nothing -
Yet the branch relies on its root.

11. He is a sign among
The signs of the Most Holy.

12. To some beneath the clouds
His sun resembles theirs.

13. And it judges for others
The hidden instead of the frown.

14. Sober despite excessive intoxication -
Mild while immersed in the unseen.

15. Humble yet firm,
Placid yet severe.

16. Free, but
Imprisoned in the presence of Truth.

17. Distractions do not bewilder him
Or lessons make him capricious.

18. His certainty is in meanings -
The unseen of the unseen is his intuition.

19. He stands amidst what
You see, though blurrier.

20. And bows down to none but
God - his head held high.

21. Content in every state
With the Truth - his impurity cleansed.

22. He regrets not what
He did - his molars are untouched.

23. As if a meadow of Truth
Where his roots thrived.

24. For God, for God - hopeful
Of none but God - despairing.

25. And the outcome is one of mystic union,
Whose companion is God.
