1. The one who sought the investigation is sleepless
And his mind drunk with the wine of God

2. And his heart in it has purified morals
Praiseworthy and he is full of success

3. If you count his good morals in multitude
Then listen from you to what I present, ears

4. It is dignity as well as shortcoming in hope
And an intention, mercy, and faith too

5. Advice, jealousy, gratitude, struggle
Sufism, then sincerity and benevolence

6. Fear of God with sorrow for Him is etiquette
And mentioning death, entrustment and certainty

7. And happiness in piety, integrity, steadfastness
Courage, then investigation and intention

8. And suppressing anger, forgiveness, and humility too
Gentleness, truthfulness, and what young men manifest

9. And love in God, then hatred in Him thereby
Intimacy, longing for the Master, and passions

10. And good assumption, asceticism, chastity, and shyness
Trust, then submission and compliance

11. Strength of religion, then straightness with
Contentment and reliance upon the Merciful

12. And softness, deliberation, and flattery in
Seeking knowledge from a sheikh of stature

13. Purity of chest from resentment, observation
Insight, remembrance that God is bountiful

14. And praise and blame in it are equal too
Contemplation, wisdom growing and adorning

15. Chivalry and belief without innovation therein
Love of leisure, so no human knows it

16. Patience, striving, forbearance, repentance, and hope
Love of God until satisfaction from Him

17. Loyalty, fulfilling a promise
Punishing the self, reproach in it is elucidation

18. Humility, then preferring others, partnership
Self-reckoning, for it justice has a scale

19. And servitude, freedom, and also
Will, and generosity - no deficiency therein

20. And intending a long life of piety, and to
Initiative for good when possible therein

21. So take praiseworthy morals, then eighty
Chains came in it of pearls
