1. Every motion you see, and stillness,
Is but a transition from life to death's home.

2. And if you understand the whole universe,
It is but signs to "Be," and it becomes.

3. One look gave, another took away,
Everything in existence, high and low.

4. So it is an eye, and if you wish, say
Eyes that shed for us from it, eyes.

5. And it is a self that warned us of itself,
Made difficult in us, and if it wished, made gentle.

6. It veiled from it our eyes with them,
So appearance from essence, and essence from essence.

7. Every day it is of a matter, and that
Is wonder - so today is of those matters.

8. And matters they are of a matter appeared
By disappearance from its ease and latency.

9. Then that matter is of a matter to
No end, as the gnostics see.

10. So strive in the journey, and knock on His door,
And enter the Presence and the Guarded House.

11. Do not think the door is anything but
You, and the house anything but you exists.

12. And understand the matter through it, O its matter,
You will know the matter with the all of arts.
