1. To me there is no difference between one guitar string and another
And Laylat al-Qadr to me is just another night

2. Our Creator has said there's a distinction made in it
In every wise command and powerful decree

3. So rise with your taste to listen to the tunbur
And the nay, for insight is gained from insight

4. These are but motions of a hand, mouth
And breath, string and fret

5. The Mover is only One, He who in
The unseen of unseens Most High shows every trace

6. And you know this, you do not deny it
Though your mind is infatuated and distracted by thought

7. Not the singer nor the tambourine in his hand
Other than the Shaper within us of every form

8. And all are non-existence appearing by them
Vanishing for the deluded and the wise

9. They are images, creations of the Will
Of good and evil, benefit and harm

10. So be aware and call them before you “things”
In the ruling of Scripture, God’s Book, and consider

11. And take a hint, nothing but His face, that you may win
What people of the perilous side have won
