1. We are but matters for God alone
He within us each day makes Himself known

2. His sun within us rose and fell
In us He's evident, and hidden as well

3. Behold, the Truth fills my heart and my frame
My bones and all else that lies far below

4. Not incarnate, but act alone
With actor behind it securely enthroned

5. We are His ancient decree from of old
In us, through existence, His arts He has told

6. However He wished, of Him we were made
By Him we move and by Him were stayed

7. In Him we were of old, so He's called All-Wise
All weighted and measured in knowledge precise

8. Then from Him, by Him, we appeared in our forms
While from Him our eyes as spies were born

9. So named All-Powerful, All-Willing became He
When mighty, by none can He haltered be

10. All this, while we are but nothingness sheer
Held in the letters kaf and nun, as we hear

11. While He is the Truth, Being beyond all we see
And unfoldment from Him rains continuously

12. Thus the Sunnah by the Prophet was brought
And to us His hidden Book He has taught

13. So hold to it, led by a guide shown the way
For he is trustworthy, not led astray

14. But leave innovations men blindly insist
For without tasting, its vileness they've missed

15. To God in the world belong penetrating hearts
Minds beside them seem mad when apart
