1. I wander about my essence with my cups of wine,
And I listen to melodies in the places of my presence.

2. I blow my flute and listen to its voice,
And I beat my tambourine when my beloved dances.

3. I release from my garden the breeze of my truths,
And my gaze roams in the gardens of my upbringing.

4. I have much longing to envision my beauty,
And my passion is only for my own reality.

5. My inner self yearns for my beauty which
My heart pours into, and how extreme is my agony!

6. I yearn for my essence morning and evening,
And my ultimate aim in the worlds is to see myself.

7. Today my own self promised me its union
Tomorrow, so when will my resurrection be?

8. I raise my veil from my face in humility,
Baring my clothes from my essence and rending my cover.

9. Love insisted that I become its slave,
With a heart fragmented into pieces from passion,

10. Much fervent longing and restrain,
And illness and intense sorrows upon me,

11. And I hope to meet my reality,
And I ask it to grant me a glance.

12. So it is no wonder I announced the secret to the world,
And in this existence I clamored in my intoxication.

13. I went astray with my beloved from all ascetics,
And I was absent from the cosmos, even from my identity.

14. I await every day and night
To see myself, indeed, every moment and hour.

15. I am none but one who loved, and surely one who loved is I,
Without doubt or ambiguity.

16. I wanted my appearance to myself, and I was not hidden,
So I manifested in forms from every image.

17. I used to be a foot in blindness with nothing
Above or below it, even air in isolation.

18. To the Supreme Pen I descended from my hand,
And to the Tablet, even to the many essences.

19. I used to be my Throne, and I mounted upon it,
In my ancient eternity in existence, in my mercy.

20. From it to the Chair I descended, even to
My seven exalted celestial spheres.

21. I manifested my kingdoms, so I was the worshipped one,
And I manifested, so the cycles turned by my power.

22. I returned as stars illuminating the world,
Increasing the glow in the darkness of night.

23. I manifested as a sun in the rise of your day,
And the night is but a result of my absence.

24. I became a crescent by which you reckon months,
And I illuminate you with the light of the bright sun.

25. I became days for you and nights,
An age, hours and every minute.

26. I took the form of jinn on earth before you
And I came to them as messengers to deliver my argument.

27. I used to deny my messengers among them
So I became for them the most faithful calamity and wrath.

28. And in every form the devils take among you
I appeared with demonic whispering to the wretched.

29. And I took form in the elements then in
Their offspring on earth - those three.

30. So in minerals I took a form and another, appearing in
Plants and animals to complete my wisdom.

31. I used to be winds from north and east,
Blowing to water the talks of lovers.

32. And I was seas extending endlessly,
Where wave after wave emerges.

33. And I became earth then its mountains
To establish it above the surrounding seas.

34. And I am as I was and never ceased to be,
In the position of transcendence, the highest position.

35. And the multitude of forms does not change
My attributes, my essence, or even a particle.

36. And are you, in imagining your inner self,
Changed from what you were each time?

37. Thought appears to you of fanciful imaginations
Impossible here, while that is like this.

38. Except that imagination with
Its imagining is external, not in the essence.

39. It is none but you, nothing here
Other than you, so realize the secret of that reality.

40. And beware of likening in every place
You imagined other, and be aware of confusion.

41. Take everything I present to you as transcendent,
And fear no shame if you understand my hint.

42. All that I have told you in verse is I,
Appearing to myself intentionally for my advice.

43. And when the forms of my essence ended as
Required by my attributes and great sublime names,

44. And the merging with that which I am a manifestation of
From persons differentiated by my will was completed,

45. And I leveled the whole's body through me, so it is receptive
To my spirit and details, prepare for my totality.

46. I gathered from things the clay of Adam
And from it to all creatures I extended the thinness.

47. And I fermented it until its creation aligned
And I leveled it until it was ready for my blowing.

48. And when the matter was perfected and what
I wanted of beauty in humanity was complete,

49. Then into that I blew from my spirit, and the breezes
Of my command blew in the gardens of nature.

50. So I stood hearing, seeing, speaking,
Willing, knowing, alive and potent.

51. And nothing appeared from me but what already
Existed with me and from me in my dominion.

52. Thus I was like water whose color is from its vessel,
And like the sun showing green through glass.

53. And my angels prostrated by my order to my manifestation,
So it was my prostration to myself, and Adam my bowing.

54. And when Satan refused out of arrogance
And did not come to me after my order with a prostration,

55. From the Most High angel I became his exit
And he came to loss, banishment, and curse.

56. And I settled him on earth, manifesting the adversity
Hidden in him, by my easy grasping hand.

57. And I showed in that angel Adam's favor
And made him the highest position in my Paradise.

58. And I brought out Eve from him, so she is to him as
He now is to me in description and form.

59. And from some trees there I forbade him,
And my forbiddance was from me for my wisdom.

60. And when my action necessitated what
I had forbidden - the perfection of the human form -

61. I came to him incited with kinds
And cast myself into pride and heedlessness.

62. And I tasted, as the enemy tasted, my separation
And eating is nothing but separation and union - my repentance.

63. And my disobedience to myself appeared to me, and when
It manifested I began shedding my evil leaves.

64. And after that I sent down to earth my body
And through it in the two worlds I was my successor.

65. And I subjugated to me all existence favorably
Upon my image from me, and I completed my blessing.

66. And I knew what was between me and me, both of them,
At Arafat after long separation.

67. So the marriage of the matter in creation appeared
Openly through us in both persons before the result.

68. And I manifested from my loins all my manifestations
In the form of particles for the solemn covenants.

69. And I called upon them about me, "Am I not your Lord?"
They said, "Yes, obediently, with a willing soul."

70. And I made them confused about other, so some of them denied
While some of them were loyal to my covenant, with confusion.

71. The first of my forms is that I
Was something to Adam, and he was my gift.

72. And I formed Noah, who came warning his people,
And I was their disbelief in him through my mission.

73. A thousand minus fifty years I remained among
Their groups, seeking to spread my call.

74. But they worshipped other, rather they worshipped me,
Yet their delusion was my veil.

75. And when they refused and disbelieved me arrogantly,
I invoked upon them and responded to my invocation.

76. And I sent a flood upon them, so they drowned,
And none survived but those with me in my ship.

77. And I formed Enoch, and I was elevating him
To a most high position in his lifetime.

78. And I formed Abraham calling to me
Against his people - what argument I brought!

79. And when he said, “This is my Lord,” I was a star,
And similarly a moon, and a sun in orientation.

80. There is no difference but setting, did I not say
I do not love setters? Such was my saying.

81. I named them for a people attached
To what limits the contingent of my absoluteness.

82. And I came to Nimrod calling him to guidance
But he did not obey until he perished from the mosquito.

83. And he kindled for me a fire and cast me in it,
But it returned by my order to me as a garden.

84. And I had been seeking from myself to see
The certainty of my reality - how reviving the dead!

85. So my answer came to me with four birds, take
Parts from them and put each piece in the high.

86. And call them, they will come rushing, and after that,
“Know that nothing is but by my power.”

87. And I formed Ishmael when, with
His father exerting, my slaughter appeared in a dream.

88. And I called when they submitted as he tilted him,
I was truthful until the ram was my redemption.

89. And I formed Isaac the jealous, and my jealousy
Was not but forbidding atrocities.

90. And I formed Jacob, whom I tested with Joseph,
And my love for him made me bear every tribulation.

91. And I separated what was between me and him for a time,
And I lamented, I called from longing separation,

92. My eyes whitened from sorrow, and I bestowed
Reunion after separation with grace.

93. And Joseph I formed an increase in brilliance
Of face captivating all the beautiful faces.

94. And at a paltry price I was bought by a buyer,
And into the well my brethren threw me from spite.

95. And I loved my beauty Zulaikha, and passion
Harmed her until she thought and imagined.

96. And I formed Hud who testified against his people
That he was innocent of their polytheism.

97. And Lot - I also formed him and Salih -
I came to my peoples delivering my call.

98. But they deviated and rebelled against my order, and they
Hamstrung when they disobeyed me, my she-camel.

99. And I formed Moses striking the sea with his staff,
And it split so his people crossed it.

100. And he noticed a fire from the side of his Mount
So he set out to get a flame from it for his family.

101. Thus he attained guidance in the form of his pursuit, and
My oneness was revealed to him from the appearance.

102. And he gained from it a vision by his request,
But it was the periods with unconsciousness that subdued him.

103. And Jesus - I formed him curing the blind
And the lepers, and bringing the dead to life by prayer.

104. And I sent my spirit, as is my custom,
To the mother until he was the appearance of my blowing.

105. And I showed what had been latent in the father
And explained to the people the secret of motherhood.

106. But they went astray from the example I cited
To understand subtle sciences in existence.

107. And they said I had become his father
And he was specially chosen with sonship to me.

108. But where are the two separate existences
When the Mighty Creator is not like the created!

109. And I am not believed with incarnation and union
In my life, though the worst nation holds them as creed.

110. All that I have shown you arranging in verse
Is from above the forms of sound minds.

111. So if you are of the people of inner knowledge, do not blame me
Because you receive it with a purified soul.

112. But if your insight is sealed, stagnant
On what you see of form after form,

113. Then you are excused by lacking understanding of what
I say due to weakness in your feeble powers.

114. So insist on transcendence and persevere in it, do not be
Of those people who stray with embodiment.

115. Leave behind embodiment and do not remain ignorant
Of attributes of the One who originated you in every state.
