1. May God bring me back to him with a beautiful return
For He is my Lord, I see no alternative to Him

I am busy with Him for a long time

Anyone other than Him, not even partially

4. In the bosoms of ardour my heart is anguished
It could not bear separation though the journey was long

5. And the mounts of my thoughts throughout the night
Traverse the distances for Him mile after mile

6. Oh my friends though this body of mine
Remains in Damascus, frail and unwell

7. Health lies in the heart even if
Patience has gone and become impossible
