1. I am Abd al-Ghani, a servant whose
Attributes, however highly exalted,

2. Are ruled to be God listening to a song-
That is, to the worlds, meaning by His essence.

3. Where in the worlds - that is, every kind
Other than His essence like His creations -

4. The sum of attributes entered in a way
Without a face, as faces enter mirrors.

5. And if you are thus, contemplate
Who am I, o self, captive of His instrument?

6. God is just the name of an essence with
All names, transmitted by its narrators.

7. So they are like one, one in
The validity of attribution, after verifications.
