4. And the All-Knowing of what has been narrated
I say to Him and depend on Him
٤. وذاك العليم بما قد روى
أقول له وعلي احتوى
5. As for that which is the love of passion
It is something that distracted me from others
٥. فأما الذي هو حب الهوى
فشيء شغلت به عن سواكا
6. Oh He who has made me suffer, may He
Heal my heart with what ails it
٦. ألا علَّ من شاقني علَّهُ
يداوي فؤادي بما علَّهُ
7. For your love has made my heart ill
And as for the one whom you deserve
٧. على عشقك القلب من علَّهُ
وأما الذي أنت أهل لهُ
8. Your unveiling of mysteries so I can see you
My heart is filled with intense passion
٨. فكشفك للحجب حتى أراكا
فؤادي بفرط الجوى ممتلي
9. And my eyes see the most sublime beauty
And I have two states that preoccupy me
٩. وعيني ترى للجمال العلي
وحالان عندي هما أجتلي
10. So there is no praise in this or that for me
But for you is praise in this and that
١٠. فلا حمد في ذا ولا ذاك لي
ولكن لك الحمد في ذا وذاكا
