1. We are the poor kings
Among the people we ruled

2. Yet we have no soldiers
And we want no army

Status or fame to see

4. We have no one to help us
Or aid us in this world

5. And whoever wants can step on us
Like dust on the ground

6. How much we are wronged
And falsely accused

7. Yet patience is our fortress
Against harm and slander

8. We are nothing, neither self
Nor description or mystery

9. We have not ceased to be in nonexistence
Home in the mother of towns

10. And He is the Realizer by whom
We see Him, not images

11. Rather none but He sees Him
And none knows His abode
