1. Love has melted my soul, my self, and my body
Leaving no eye for the beloved, no trace

2. With some resilience I spent it by fate's hand
And so I decisively cured our illness

3. They asked us about our precious souls and names
That for us, remain no essence or name

4. It is the treasure whose dense exterior
Baffles the ignorant, though filled with knowledge

5. Nearness is but distance from it, for it
Is opposite us, wherever we fancied or dreamed

6. It is the intellect, even all meanings
The senses, the sensed, specifically or generally

7. If you wish to approach it, then be with it
Far, and leave any understanding of it, understanding

8. Stop at it, leave your stoppage, leaving
Your leaving reveals a crescent in it complete

9. Beware approaching it in ego, and beware
Boasting of moving away in claimed glory

10. Reach it through what is of it, and incline to its tavern
Inclined, you see, necessarily coming from its side

11. And be its traces' observer through its eyes
Else, of its traces you have still been blind

12. Hear no sounds but through its hearing
For if you hear through it, even the deaf are made to hear

13. Call through it among people, and listen to the call
Men inclined to it will answer, consumed with care

14. And divert from your essence the veils
You will see the sun guide the stars of your mind

15. Do not heed the lost and misguided masses
For only what fate apportioned is triumphant
