1. The light of existence's essence
Above mankind, that is mankind

2. For it is a restricted rank
Releasing it into hearts is benevolence

3. He who witnesses it in men says
Blessed be Allah for He is Beneficent

4. Wherein He sent down the Quran unto the Messenger
It began, it began, whenever I say “it began”

5. It began, it began, so it is, it is faith
I erased yet affirmed subtleties in

6. The gnosis of the matter as it is seemly
And we have an outlet here

7. While with Him, a non-ceasing instant
Now, in the now, is one, so if

8. It doubles, it doubles, and the melodies shine
And it is ornaments in the eyes

9. And it is melodies in the ears
For that, that eye, for that

10. And the voice of the singing bird, fresh branches
The treasury of the letter opened it honor

11. And the lock a profit for it and loss
